Homework: Write your thesis statement for your scarology story
Today we worked on our thesis statements for our introductory paragraphs. As we discussed in class we need to know exactly what we are going to be including in our paper in order to write our thesis statement, so we needed to fill out an organizer for the middle of our paper to get started.
Once students filled out the organizer and completed the bulleted list of what would be in their paper they began working on their thesis statements. The hint we used in class, was that we called the thesis the "Spoiler Alert!" for our paper. It is telling your reader exactly what they are about to read about. It's like watching a preview to a show, except that it is a little bit more specific.
If you did not finish writing your thesis statement it is homework!
