Jan 18, 2013 Inferences

We started talking today about what everyone could expect for the upcoming student led conferences.  We reviewed what the expectations are, what the rubric looks like, and what tools they could use to present.  On Monday we will begin creating these presentations on the computer, so you might want to start thinking about what you will include....

We then moved back to our non-fiction unit and finally found out what our sentences from yesterday were actually all about!  The sentences were taken from an article that was about a soldier's experience during the Civil War.  The article was an excerpt from a Gary Paulsen book.  After reading the article we learned about what post traumatic stress disorder was.  Using our new, fabulous, inference skills we inferred whether or not we thought this soldier might have suffered from PTSD based on the information presented to us in the article.  We all inferred that yes he most likely did.  Great job everyone!
