Today in class we continued our non-fiction unit. We opened by reading again from our read-aloud Chasing Lincoln's Killer. It was VERY intense today! Lots of suspense! We got through the part where John Wilkes Booth escaped the theater, as well as when Secretary of State Seward was almost killed!
After reading we continued our presentation on different types of non-fiction and learned about text codes. Text codes are marking you can make while reading to help you remember the material and make connections to it. We will continue to practice this tomorrow as well.
Tomorrow in class we will have our Sentences of the Week and will use Compass Learning, and will finish up by practicing text codes. Have a great night!
