Today in class we opened up with our read aloud Chasing Lincoln's Killer. After reading student's had to write a summary of the portion we read today. Everyone did an AWESOME job on their summaries! Here is an example of an awesome summary written by Ben.....
Today during our read aloud we read a chapter of Chasing Lincoln's Killer. In the chapter we read today Booth and Herold set foot in Virginia for the first time. For them this new state was a safe house state for them but not for long. The Union troops have started searching all the places they have been and arresting helpers. Now the troops are getting really close and the danger is everywhere. That's what happened in today's chapter of Chasing Lincoln's Killer.

We then continued our work on step up to writing. We finished our partner activity where students created an outline and then cut up the words. They switched papers with another group and then had to organize each others outlines.
For tonight's homework students need to create their own organization games which we will practice organizing tomorrow.
